Easy Vegan Chocolate Fudge Brownies

Hey y'all!

Looking for the perfect sweet treat to take with you to all the ugly sweater parties this holiday season? I've got you covered! These brownies have one of my fave ingredients ever -- Chia seeds! They're actually one of the healthiest foods on the planet. These tiny seeds are full of nutrients, antioxidants, and fiber! They mix right into the batter so you don't have to feel guilty eating one or two slices ;)

Let me also add that in no way am I a food blogger. Honestly, food photography is one of the hardest things for me. I'm the type to slap something on a plate and dig in. So don't mind my photos, I promise that these brownies are full of all sorts of ooey-gooey deliciousness!

15 Eco-Friendly Gifts for Under $15

Hey y'all!

Who doesn't want to help save the world? I know that we all try to do our best to recycle and skip out on the plastic straws, but why not #treatyoself (or your friends and family) this holiday season to something a little more bojuee.

Don't worry, I'm not about to ask you to only wear clothing made of hemp. Instead, just make a few tiny switches here and there to maybe use a little less plastic in your life. You'll be surprised at how simple it is!

Did you know that one plastic straw can take up to 200 years to decompose? So imagine all of the straws that you've ever used in your entire life. Not even the first one you've ever used has decomposed yet. It really does make you think about what you're using and the impact you have on the planet -- even after you're gone.

The 4 Best Tips for Glowing Skin All Winter Long

Hey y'all!

I think we can all agree that winter weather is not so forgiving on our skin. We get pale, our freckles fade, and not to mention, we don't get to look like the glowing goddesses we were over summer. We all want to put our best faces forward, but it can make us feel a little not so beautiful when our skin looks dull and dry.

I personally have normal / combination acne prone skin which can make my life easy and not-so-easy all at once. I tried to give y'all some tips that will work for all skin types because I know that everyone is different!

20 Holiday Letter Board Quotes to Make You Giggle

Hey y'all!

I've owned a letter board for over a year now. (Yes I had one before they were ~trendy~ on Instagram) They're so fun to post some inspirational quotes, reminders, or my personal favorite: to make people giggle when they read it. I like to get real cheesy because why the heck not?! I'm the type to spend hours on Pinterest searching for the perfect quote for each season, so I'm sharing some of my favorites with you!

If you wanted to get real crazy, I guess you could probably switch up the quote every single day. But I'm not that wild...I'll probably just stick with the quote I already have on my board which you can see down below!

My 2018 Christmas Wish List

Hey y'all!

One of my favorite things during the holiday season is to peruse other people's wish list. Maybe it's the nosiness in me or maybe I'm just looking for some inspo for my own list, but I could watch wish list videos for hours!

I thought that I would share my 2018 Christmas wish list for my girlies like me. So whether you're nosey or clueless, I've got you covered! One thing I have noticed is the older I get, the more practical I get with my gift-giving and asking. I look for pieces that will last me for a long time, but also still throw in a few little "cheaper" gifts as well! I also am a big believer in home decor for Christmas presents instead of clothes. It's a lot more personal in my opinion, and you don't have to worry about returning something if it's the wrong size ;)

The ULTIMATE Holiday Playlist

Hey y'all!

One of the reasons that Christmas is one of my favorite holidays is because of the music! No matter your age, everyone can hum along to the classics while sipping on hot chocolate and looking at Christmas lights.

I figured why not put together a list of my fave jams to share with y'all?? Some oldies, some newbies, and some remixes. I love mixing up the original versions of songs with new singers (hellooooo Ariana Grande).

25 Holiday Movies to Watch This December

Hey y'all!

Happy official holiday season!! For a lot of people, December 1st is the official start of Christmas music and decorations.  I personally start celebrating as soon as it gets cold (so like, early November) because I absolutely love this time of year! My birthday AND Christmas is in December so why wouldn't I be thrilled about it?!

In my opinion, one of the best ways to get in the holiday spirit is to watch holiday movies! But there's nothing more annoying than having to scroll through each subscription service to find movies that are rated higher than 1 star. That's why I did some digging and made these lists to help make your search a little easier! Now you can load up Netflix (or Amazon Prime or Hulu) and get to feeling holly and jolly!

The 5 Best Apps to Kill Time Without Internet

Hey y'all!

It's officially the holiday season!!! Now before you roll your eyes and grumble to yourself that skipping over Thanksgiving and heading straight into Christmas is one of the most annoying things ever --- let me just stop you right there. I consider the "holiday season" to include Thanksgiving. When it's December, that's Christmas season. So don't worry your pretty little head!

But back to what I was saying, it's holiday season which means lots of traveling for most of us. If you live far from home or are planning on taking a trip, then you'll probably be flying. And unfortunately, not every single plane has wifi (..yet). So what exactly are you supposed to do with all that free time without being able to scroll through Instagram?

Well, you could listen to some podcasts. But if you're not into that kinda thing, then you've obviously stumbled upon the right blog post! I get a tiny bit anxious on planes, so I always make sure to have a few apps installed that don't require internet to access. If I'm feeling like I'm about to freak myself out, I'll put in some headphones and get to work de-stressing. I hope these can bring you a little bit of nostalgia for those OG iPhone games.

Just don't forget to download the games BEFORE you board the plane, ya know, since you won't have internet ;)

Sit Down with Sarah | Vol. 7

Hey y'all!

I've been traveling a lot lately because it's that time of the year when I get a lot of breaks in between classes. I can't wait to update y'all on everything that I've been loving lately, plus all the fun stuff that I have up to!

How to Simplify Your Life

Hey y'all!

My mantra for 2018 was to grow and be happy. Part of the be happy for me has come from simplifying everything around me. Realizing that not everything in life has to be complicated and stressful has really changed me. I find myself being much more patient with myself and others, caring about new causes, and making days much more enjoyable overall.

I figured I should spread the joy with my readers!! I personally love reading all about how to live my best life. I've been doing some heavy reading on the topic lately! So here are the tips that I've been using to help me live a simple and happy life!

Sit Down with Sarah | Vol. 6

Hey y'all!

Long time, no sit-down! I started this series a year ago to feel more in touch with my readers. While it's fun to share my favorite Amazon purchases, I've found that a lot of y'all enjoy hearing about what the heck is going on in my life!

I haven't done an updated SDWS since November of last year, so let's hope I don't leave any big life changes out! It's harder than you think to try to remember what happened throughout a year.

10 Things You Should Amazon Prime for Your First College Apartment

Hey y'all!

So Michael and I recently moved into an unfurnished apartment. The last two years we've been living in an apartment that came with pretty much everything you could possibly need. The only problem? It was all the typical "college" apartment style furniture with dark wood and silver metal sides. Not so cute.

I was so excited to move into a new place and to get to make it feel a lot more like home. It got me thinking that I should share some of my Amazon Prime favorites in my new place. Don't have a prime membership? Sign up here for a free 30 days. Plus it's even cheaper for college students. I promise you won't be disappointed.

15 Healthy Snack Ideas That Won't Break the Bank

Hey y'all!

So I'm a member of like a lot of facebook groups. What can I say? I like reading other people's drama and also pitching in a few of my own ideas. I was recently scrolling through my timeline and saw two different posts in different groups asking
"Hi 🙂 so I’ve just started a new healthy eating lifestyle.. but what are some of your favorite healthy snacks??"
"Looking for snack ideas to eat!"
And girlies, have I got them for you! I don't think anyone should feel guilty for snacking. As long as you're making healthy choices, then it's okay. It's important to listen to your body. So if you need a snack, then eat a snack!

Stop Feeling Guilty for Putting Yourself First

Hey y'all!

Long time, no chat, right? Well, today's topic covers the reason why I haven't posted in a hot minute. I didn't want to post something just because I felt like I had to post something. I didn't want to put up some half-assed piece that talked about the summer's hottest trends. I didn't even really want to post something inspiring either. I just didn't want to take the time to write anything.

How I Afford Luxury Brands with a College Girl's Budget

Hey y'all!

I'm the type of girl that would rather spend $20 on a margarita and a burrito than on a t-shirt. For some reason, it is so much easier for me to justify spending money on good food rather than "wasting it" on something I probably will wear a maximum of 10 times.

Being in college, I rarely (and I really do mean rarely) dress up. Unless it's formal chapter or I'm trying to take a cute pic for Instagram, then I can be found wearing an XL comfort colors shirt with either black Lululemon leggings or Nike shorts.

My All-Time Favorite Green Smoothie Recipe

Hey y'all!

Green smoothies get a bad rap. Whether you think they taste too much like grass or feel like you're biting into a bunch of kale, I want to promise you that not all green smoothies are created equally.

Last year, I finally bought one of those frozen packs to make your own smoothies at home. I was feeling adventurous and bought one that was Jamba Juice brand for a green smoothie. I had it sitting in my freezer for a month before I finally decided to try it out. Spoiler: I. Loved. It.

I think what's off-putting to a lot of people is the color. Why would you expect something sweet out of something that looks like the green slime off of Nickelodeon? The trick is to cover up the green taste with powerful tasting fruits (banana, mango, pineapple, etc)!

How I Travel with Pets (And How You Can Too!)

Hey y'all!

I'm a 21-year-old college student with two pets. It's a little hectic at times, but I wouldn't trade it for the world! I have a 20 lb cat and a 5 lb dog (yep, you read that right). Both of them have traveled a ton and I'd like to think that I have a pretty good routine down.

Now that I'm thinking about it, they've both been to 7 states, and I've only had my dog for 4 months. And most of the time that I'm traveling, I'm usually doing it solo. So if you're heading on vacay soon and want to take your fluffy friend with you, seriously, take my advice.

Also, just for reference since I will be talking about them a lot -- Denny is my cat and Peanut is my dog!

The 10 Best Podcasts for a Road Trip

Hey y'all!

Next week is spring break (at least for me)!!! Michael and I are heading to Texas to road-trip around the state. We're hitting San Antonio and Dallas while we're there and I'm so so excited. Instead of trying to scan the radio for a new station every 10 minutes or trying to muddle through Spotify's ads, we prefer to listen to podcasts!

I know that there are plenty of other people that are always looking for new podcasts to listen to, so I figured that I would share some of my favorites with y'all! I definitely want to find some more podcasts to get into, so be sure to share yours down in the comments!

College Wardrobe Essentials

Hey y'all!

I love writing college posts on my blog. I know that I was definitely searching for thousands of pins before my freshman year looking for any information I could! I've already done Shoe Essentials Every Collegiate Needs, and I figured it was about time for a follow-up post.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you don't need to overpack clothes in college. If you're planning on joining a sorority, then definitely don't take a ton of t-shirts with you to school. You're going to end up with plenty! I've compiled a list of essential wardrobe items that you should consider taking to college with you.

Don't waste precious space in your car by taking old t-shirts with you to college. Instead, try to only pack the essentials that I have shared in my blog post! Your closet will be full, but not overflowing, and you'll never feel like you have nothing to wear! | texasweettea

5 Cleaning Products Everyone Needs + FREE Cleaning Checklist

Hey y'all!

So am I totally a mom yet for doing a blog post about cleaning products? Probably. I actually came up with this post idea while I was cleaning my apartment. Whenever I first moved in, I didn't really know what products I would need or what would actually work, and my mom wrote me a shopping list that she swore by. So without further ado, here are the products that I always keep on hand for cleaning!

Cleaning can be confusing. Let me help you make it simple by downloading a FREE cleaning checklist! | texasweettea

Hey y'all!

Guess who just booked her trip for spring break! (If you didn't guess me, are you feeling okay?) Michael and I are going to fly into Houston, drive up to Dallas with my parents, and even spend a day in Austin. I absolutely love Texas, just like most Texans do. We can't help that we're from the best state!

30 Journal Prompts to Help Make 2018 Your Best Year Yet

Hey y'all!

I'm making 2018 my so-called "year of growth". I realized at the end of December that I was feeling extremely burnt out from a lot of different aspects of my life. I'm sure you noticed that one of those things was social media. I didn't feel likely photos were aesthetically pleasing enough to post, or I'd post something and delete it a few minutes later (but we all do that, right?).
