College Wardrobe Essentials

Hey y'all!

I love writing college posts on my blog. I know that I was definitely searching for thousands of pins before my freshman year looking for any information I could! I've already done Shoe Essentials Every Collegiate Needs, and I figured it was about time for a follow-up post.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you don't need to overpack clothes in college. If you're planning on joining a sorority, then definitely don't take a ton of t-shirts with you to school. You're going to end up with plenty! I've compiled a list of essential wardrobe items that you should consider taking to college with you.

Don't waste precious space in your car by taking old t-shirts with you to college. Instead, try to only pack the essentials that I have shared in my blog post! Your closet will be full, but not overflowing, and you'll never feel like you have nothing to wear! | texasweettea

The Basics:
These are the items you will always want to have on hand. For the lazy days, you're going to want to be comfy. And it never hurts to have basics for any type of event you might have. I choose to mix and match on if I want to splurge or save! I have a few nice pairs of yoga pants, and a few pairs of less expensive leggings, so really it's up to you.
  • Basic tees (white, black, grey, navy)
  • Leggings
  • Yoga pants
  • Athletic shorts

      Splurge:
These are items that you will wear quite frequently, but maybe not on an everyday basis. Investing in a good pair of jeans is the best advice that I could give anyone. Denim goes with just about anything, and you won't regret a single penny when they don't lose their stretch throughout the day (you know what I'm talking about). I also suggest spending a little more when purchasing outerwear so that it will last you multiple seasons and also do a great job at keeping you warm.
      • Jeans
      • Denim jacket
      • Raincoat
      • Winter coat
      • Blazer + matching pants
      • Flannel

        Save:
Seems pretty simple, but these are the items that you can save some money on! This is also the section where your "going out" clothes should come from. God forbid you to ruin your white show me your mumu shorts with some jungle juice. Instead, check places like TJ Maxx, Target, Forever 21, or maybe even try out one of those sketchy Chinese websites!
        • Bathing suit
        • Jean skirt
        • High-waisted jean shorts
        • Sweatshirt
        • Baseball hat
        • Tennis skirt
        • Sundresses
        • Rompers
