Hey y'all!
Last week, I shared that a big goal of mine in 2021 is to save more money. Although I'm not the type to drop big bucks on clothing, I definitely find myself scrolling on Instagram boutiques in my free time. (Speaking of - shoutout to my bestie girl, Julia, for opening her own shop @shopmylumina)
I don't buy myself new clothes very often
thanks to Poshmark always having good deals on secondhand clothing (use my code SMORRISONN to save $10). But I found myself becoming overwhelmed with the amount of clothing yet lack of outfits in my closet. I've always been intrigued by the idea of a capsule wardrobe, so I thought 2021 would be a great year to build one!
So what is a capsule wardrobe exactly? According to Wikipedia...
Capsule Wardrobe: The term has come to refer to a collection of clothing that is composed of interchangeable items only, to maximise the number of outfits that can be created. The aim is to have an outfit suitable for any occasion without owning excessive items of clothing. This is usually achieved by buying what are considered to be "key" or "staple" items in coordinating colours.
My aim is to only own pieces that I love and actually enjoy wearing. Goodbye itchy tight sweaters, hello oversized comfy chenille! I also thought it would be super fun to share my journey of picking out the pieces to build my capsule wardrobe.
When shopping these links, I may earn a small commission from your purchases. This is no charge to you, but helps me pay for all things texasweettea. Thank you for making my dream possible!
