An Open Letter to My Best Friend in a Different Sorority

Dear Best Friend in a Different Sorority,

Firstly, let me say how proud of us I am. We have come such a long way since being PNMs. Do you remember months before recruitment how nervous we were? Remember how we joked about creating our own sorority so that we would both be guaranteed a bid? We were paranoid, but at least we had each other to panic text.

What Dressing Like a Sorority Girl Has Taught Me

Hey y'all!

One of the best decisions I made when I first came to college was joining a sorority. I am a member of Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Alabama. I absolutely love being a part of this sisterhood and it has taught me so much about myself. I have learned patience, confidence and how to love others. But dressing like a "typical sorority girl" has taught me a few things too.

My Sorority Recruitment Experience at The University of Alabama

Hey y'all!

For those of you who don't know, I am a freshman at the University of Alabama. We have the biggest formal recruitment in the entire country, so completing the whole week is an accomplishment. This post will explain the process as well as calm your nerves if you're planning on going through it for yourself! Every school is different, so feel free to comment below and let me know how your school does it!

Texasweettea Travels to Scotland

Hey y'all!

These last few weeks, I have been in Scotland. Believe it or not, I am actually originally from there! Since I haven't seen any of my family that lives there for a whole two years, it was important for me to spend my time with them instead of on my computer.

Here are a few fun pictures from my vacation! Please excuse the messy hair, not-so-cute outfits, and no makeup look. It was very cold and rainy most of the time.

Summer in Lilly - Lilly Pulitzer's New Collection

Hey y'all!

So a ton of new arrivals have made a splash on Lilly Pulitzers website and you can view the full catalog here. I am extremely unfortunate that the nearest store is six hours away, so I am the type to order multiples of different sizes. My wallet doesn't always appreciate it, but my shopaholic side does. So here are the two newest prints that were added to the Summer Line today.

April Favorites

Hey y'all!

Tomorrow I start my very final month of high school. Boy, this year has flown by. It is so crazy to think that in less than four months, I will be beginning my freshman year of college. I keep telling my parents how scary it is that I am going to be attending school with 'grown-ups'.

Anyways, let's get on to the reason for this post. Here are a few of my favorite things this month!

Lilly Pulitzer for Target Game Plan

Hey y'all!

If you're an avid Lilly lover like me, you will have had this Sunday's launch date marked on your calendar for MONTHS. I know this is a controversial topic but I, for one, am very excited that Target X Lilly Pulitzer have put together an affordable line for all shapes and sizes. My very sweet mother is going to take on the challenge of Target with me. So here are the items I plan on grabbing first!

Lust List #2

Hey y'all!

In case you haven't noticed/haven't had the time to creep on my blog yet, a Lust List is just a list of some of the many items on my wish list. Click here to see what I have previously posted! (Oh, and I won't complain if you feel the need to purchase any of these items for me!)

5 Lessons I've Learned From Gossip Girl

Hey y'all!

Unless you've been living under a rock, you have heard of (or binge-watched) the television show Gossip Girl. The show is filled with drama, some-what unrealistic situations and well, more drama. Although some of the episodes are a little over the top, it does actually hold some value.

Southern Girl Prep Giveaway

Hey y'all!

If you are following me on Instagram, you would have seen this perfectly southern girl post.

The company who created and sells this adorable tee, Southern Girl Prep, hopes to "represent the best of Southern girls who love their sweet tea, monograms, cowboy boots, pearls & bows"! Doesn't this just sound like a match made in absolute heaven?!?

T Shirt Overload

Hey y'all!

Just like every other girl, I'm a huge fan of comfy clothes. My outfit of choice is usually always an oversized tee with a pair of Nike shorts. Hate me all you want. You can even be funny annoying by asking me if I'm wearing pants, but I'm the one who can just lay down in bed after school, while you'll have to change out of your polo and cargo shorts (honestly, why are you still choosing to wear those).

I'm going to let you in on a little secret of mine. It's where to find the best comfy clothes. Trust me when I say you'll want to pin this post to keep for later.

MY 2015 New Year's Resolution

Hey y'all!

First of all, Happy New Year! I hope you all had a safe and wonderful night. Today is the day everyone starts their journey toward accomplishing a goal. My resolution this year? Well, I have a few!

My first resolution is to write a blog post ONCE A WEEK. This one will be extremely hard for me because I seem to always draw a blank when trying to come up with something to post or write about. But I really would like to keep up with it this year!

I also plan on eating healthier this year. In no way am I considering it a 'diet', but I'm going to cut down on the amount of sodium and sugar I eat. And sadly, that means cutting down on eating Chick Fil a.

This one is a bit odd but I want to start saving money by couponing! My very kind mother gave me a little portfolio and everything for storing my coupons in. Once I get started, I'll try to share some of my great deals and how to score some for yourself!

Lastly, I want to stay organized and learn how to properly study for school. This semester I'm taking AP Government and I'm going to use that to my advantage before I start college.

What's your New Year's Resolution?
