Sit Down with Sarah | Vol. 6

Hey y'all!

Long time, no sit-down! I started this series a year ago to feel more in touch with my readers. While it's fun to share my favorite Amazon purchases, I've found that a lot of y'all enjoy hearing about what the heck is going on in my life!

I haven't done an updated SDWS since November of last year, so let's hope I don't leave any big life changes out! It's harder than you think to try to remember what happened throughout a year.

1. I'm graduating soon! (seriously...under 100 days..)
I'm having a lot of "last firsts" this semester. Crying over the fact that I just had my last first home game in Bryant-Denny Stadium, last first day of school, and that I'll no longer be a part of sorority recruitment (those ones might be happy tears though). Michael and I don't exactly have a set plan for after I graduate, but we've definitely got Dallas on our minds. I'm looking to work in social media/marketing communications so uhhh #hiremeplease.

2. We moved apartments
"We" being Michael, my boyfriend, and I. For my last semester of school, we wanted to live somewhere cheaper because college living is $$$. I don't have as many classes on campus, so I was okay with us moving a little further away in order to save on rent. I actually love this space so much more than the last place we lived! It has way more space for our pets and even has a fireplace!

And ok I know I said I was going to post moving vlogs and I did attempt to do them, but frankly, they sucked. It became too hectic once my parents arrived to help us move apartments. Plus I was so exhausted at the end of each day that I could barely keep my eyes open. I have a few clips, but nothing worth putting on YouTube. Maybe I'll do an apartment tour soon?

3. Book Club!
I recently ordered a ton of books on Amazon which got me thinking, hey, I should start a book club. And so I did! It's a virtual book club all about focusing on that #BossBabeEnergy, finding your highest self, and living your best life. I wanted a group of girls who have similar interests to me so that we could create a fun and encouraging community to discuss what we think about different books.

If you're interested in joining, click here. I'd love to have you!

4. Thrift Shopping
Hey, Macklemore! Can we go thrift shopping? I might not be Macklemore, but my answer is always heck yes. Basically, every Friday since the start of the semester, my friend, Sara, and I hit the road and drive around Alabama in search of new thrifty finds. I usually lean towards natural wood tones, wicker pieces, or just cute little knick-knacks. I think it's much more meaningful to find unique pieces to decorate with rather than just pick up the latest print from Target.

5. Spirituality
I used to think that people who were spiritual were the girls who did yoga and drank green juice..(I mean, I'm not saying that I don't do those things now, but that's beside the point). I don't think I've talked about it here on my blog, but I received the Starchild Tarot set from my boyfriend as an anniversary gift. Not only was it thoughtful, but it has brought me to do more research into the spiritual world. If it's something people are interested in, I would be more than willing to answer some questions or do a longer blog post about my "woo-woo " practices/rituals!

And now some SDWS Honorable mentions:
  • I turned 21 in Nashville (you can see vlogmas clips here)...and now I'm almost 22
  • I got to visit the original "Christmas Story" house in Cleveland, OH
  • I spent spring break in San Antonio, TX with my boyfriend and my dad
  • I KILLED last semester and got my first ever 4.0! - here are some study tips to help ya out
  • Spent a week on Dauphin Island, AL with my family and Peanut
  • Had my last ever sorority recruitment (thank God)
  • Celebrated Peanut's 2nd birthday!!!
xo,
Sarah
